Put non-preboiled rice in the grind chamber and hold the upper burr tightly. When unscrewing the upper nut, you'll be turning in the grinding direction. Rice is hard and will provide enough resistance to unscrew the upper nut.
It's easy that way. You don't have to take apart the grinder.
