Hi

some of you have both, the Mahlkoenig K30 and the Macap M7D. I would like to hear your experience with both. Which one is better for you in terms of:

a) usability (easy to use)
b) taste
c) low grind retention
d) noise level

In Europe, the prices are almost the same for both, K30 and M7D.

My benchmark for the taste is a Mazzer Super Jolly. So both, the K30 and Macap M7D need to beat it in the criteria "taste". Unlike others here, I find the taste of my SJ a lot better than with my Baratza Vario Home by the way (same beans, same machine, tested side by side).

Thanks

Here is a post by Frank that compares a K10 Fresh to the K30. I had an opportunity to try out his grinder alongside my own M7k and found the grind indistinguishable. It really boils down to user preference when you try to compare many of these high end grinders, you may prefer the taste produced by the K30 over a K10 Fresh (or M7D).
