Macap M4 owners manual

Postby hobb3 on Fri Nov 07, 2008 10:12 am

I have just ordered an M4 grinder, but have to wait at least a week for delivery. Is there an M4 manual available in electronic format that I could read in the meantime? I am eager to start using it the minute it hits my doorstep.

I would appreciate it if you could specify a download link.

The factory manual is pretty useless & doesn't tell you anything you couldn't figure out yourself after looking at the grinder for 60 seconds. The U.S. supplier I bought mine from includes a supplement that explains finding the zero point & other useful info. If you PM me your email I can scan the sheet & send a copy.

This sounds like some useful information. I have also sent you a PM with my Email address and hope that you will send the scanned document to me as well.

And btw..... I agree with JohnB on the lack of content in the factory manual.

Cheers

Here is a tip I picked up somewhere (probably on this board):

Get a guitar string winder. It fits perfectly on the adjustment knob of the Macap, and if you need to move it a long way (as when you dial it in) it makes it very easy.

You can pick them up for a couple of bucks or so at a music store or on ebay.

Or just do this mod to simplify cleaning & adjusting:

Hi to all, this is my first message on the forum! I'm new to espresso, but i've found the site much helpful so far :D . The grinder review, helped me choose Macap M4 doser stepless grinder, which i've ordered. I would like to ask, if possible, to JohnB or KimH (i've send you PMs) to send me too the instruction manual until the grinder arrives. Thanks very much in advance.

I have sent you a 'full resolution' copy of the document I got from JohnB.

The file attached to this message is in a lower quality.

Paragraph 5 is load of hooey. As long as you are not trying to go from press to espresso grind or the grinder is not very close to zero, one can adjust the worm gear 720° finer with the grinder off with no ill effect.
