I guess my point is more "what does a little bit of rub sound like?" On my Bunn, I'm just turning and then there's a loud chime. I think it's mostly the paper wiper sound throwing me off, should probably take them out to 0 it.

Nice box btw. You can't seal up the sides since then you couldn't show it off!

I don't see any reason the speed adjustment wouldn't work, though I don't find it to have the same effect as adjusting grind on taste. I tend to like fast and fine for light coffees. I think it takes a lot longer getting the RPM to the number I want than to move the wheel anyway.

Wondering if anyone's tried any other burrs in the EG-1. I know that regular Ditting 804 burrs supposedly fit, and Ditting 805 screwless magnet mount ones definitely should. If I recall, someone even mentioned that the Peak burrs looked like they'd fit too.

I'm quite happy with the burrs that come with the grinder, but always fun to see what can be done

For that matter, wasn't Lyn Weber planning to release some magnetic burrs too? Anything ever come of that?

Before anyone runs out and tries this, I noticed a bit of a problem.

Magnetic burrs look like they need some kind of post in order to be mounted, which the EG-1 doesn't have, despite having the magnets. Lyn Weber would have to release some kind of post adapter for the screw holes to make the magnetic burrs mount properly.

They have adapter pins. I'm still beta testing the magnetic (screw-less) burrs.

Nice! Excited to hear that they have the magnetic burrs in testing. Are you allowed to make any comments on how they are so far? :D

I figured they'd have some kind of screw in adapter when the magnaburrs came out, just wanted to throw a warning out to anyone considering trying to throw Ditting 805 burrs in it as is after my last post.

LWW is doing far more advanced testing on it, they're having laser particle analysis done to see what objective results may come of it. I've been impressed with it's output but still working on breaking the burrs in to give them a fair comparison. Early on, I'd say they're at least equivalent. I have more questions than answers at this point.

Just purchased my EG-1. Very excited :) Feel like I spent a million dollars on coffee this week LOL as I also purchased 2 DE1+'s . One for home and one for the office. Time to start working overtime.

July/August time frame I think. I purchased them fully aware of the delay. I think they will be worth the wait. Besides gives me time to play with the grinder :)

It has arrived, very nice looking grinder, heavier than I thought it would be. Now I just need an espresso machine :)
