La Cimbali Grinder identification - Page 2

I am reasonably certain that the grinder is a Junior with the (optional) taller bean hopper on it.

It is not the belt drive conical / flat Alinox (DRM).

Thanks for everyone who helped out with advice.

I ended up letting the sale slide by as I wasn't too sure. Thankfully really as the other day I went to pick up my coffee machine from servicing, there happened to be a lightly used Max grinder sitting in the workshop.

It has just been serviced, and it appears to have had very very light use. All up it set me back around US$200. I just picked it up tonight though haven't had the opportunity to test it as I ran out of beans.

Thanks again for all the help folks!

Yann :)

That is the real deal. I like both of my Max's. So much so that I sold my Mazzers. The first two things I did was remove the portafilter fork, it is plastic and sharp. I cut my hand more than once on it. The other was replacing the power switch with one from a Jr. The push button is much easier to use than that rocker switch when you are grinding per dose. You can hit the button with your thumb to turn it on and off while dosing. $200, I would have purchased it. Not bad for a $1100 grinder.

Hi Yann,
That was a great score. Well done. Do they have any more? :) Nice to see the Danesi cups are getting used too. Sorry I made you pay a bit more for those on TM. All the best.
Sam.

Hi Sam (Adam?),

no more that I ould see, and I think it was just a one off as it was a trade in. The demitasse Danesi cup is getting used, though not the others at this stage. I think I have too many cups, and am anticipating a bit of a clear out of some things soon. That and selling some bits and pieces soon.

Still trying to figure the ins and outs of the Max though, but so far so good!
