In my experience this does not work well.

caleb105 wrote:2 - Use a metal funnel that is grounded to the body of the grinder. That way, even when the statically charged grinds come in contact with the grinder, the charge is passed through the grounded funnel and there is no longer an electron attraction between the grinds and the funnel

Tried this too, metal grounded funnel does not do diddly.

Have not tried this but it can't be any worse than metal funnel...

I agree with Tekomino, I actually started a thread recently about coating the Doserless funnel with Teflon. The reason being is that I read that a version of Teflon or coatings similar can actually have anti-static properties.

You are correct (as far as I have gathered) that the charge comes from grinding. The Anti-Static screen works about 90% of the way. There are 2 big issues I have with the Anti-Static Screen:
1: Screen creates clumping because it holds back the grinds as they exit the chute, and these clumps are large, and require significant work to break up.
2: Screen prohibits cleaning inside of the chute. - easy fix if you don't mind purging a few grams every session.

I've used the funnel with and without the screen, I've even tried to modify the screen by cutting more of the parts away, to see if the clumping will decrease, nothing notable.

The screen and funnel worked well on my Mini, I barely saw any clumps, but when I got the SJ, and new burrs, it was clump central. I tried working without the screen, and it sprayed the grounds literally 12" away as they exited the chute. I tried to ground the funnel, no luck. I got fed up with it, and figured, went back to the doser.

Very intriguing idea, have been tinkering with thoughts along the same lines. So I'll keep my eye on this thread!

Same here, greatest thing that ever happened to my routine...

BTW, phaelon56 (Owen) and 1st-line have significantly lower prices on the OEM funnel...
May you be cursed with enthusiasm for products manufactured in "developed" countries.

any of you who may be so disgusted with the doserless option and want to "unload" your components for free or cheap please let me know. I'd hate to have them go to waste...
