Nice videographic work Rastislav.

Brilliant design on the Kinu M68 grinder.
Between order and chaos there is espresso.
Semper discens.

The video suggests the design is subject to change- any hints on what changes might occur?

thanks Robert, appreciated!
this is from the german forum, images credit j*rg:
they have added one more leg, a rubber ring around the bottom of the base (I have some silicone tabs), they have added a dust cover and the chute is now single piece of stainless steel, also the bottom of the catch cup is steel, not plastic

and a neat carrying system, image credit adam23:

I read that the gear ratio was also changed, from 1:2.4 to 1:2.9
the surface finish of the globe is now brushed aluminium, not polished

the first version of this grinder was a stainless steel cylinder (image credit Lyvyoo, romanian forum), but the company claimed that this design was problematic with tolerances, also the gear ratio was different I don't know the exact value but it was harder to grind:

I can't seem to figure out what must obvious: what is the purpose of the straight metal bar included with the M47?

It's for knocking out the outer burr when dismantling

Should you remove it you need to be very careful when putting it back. If it goes further in or out you should be - or plus on your settings. Christian when asked told me that is not recommended to remove the outer burr,as you can clean everything with it in place. I know I wont!

More than one person had brought up minor issues with the previous catch cup, and it seems Kinu is paying attention, since they've already changed it on their current model! It screws on very smoothly. I borrowed from the Feldgrind design and modded it with an o-ring. This prevents the locking up when two metal surfaces contact each other. With the o-ring, the catch cup screws on very securely and is easy to screw on and off. A bonus is it reduces the amount of turns needed to fully screw it on to about 1/2 a turn, making it very quick on/off.
Also, mine came with zero burr rub at the practical "zero" setting!
To echo others' impressions, beautiful to look at, super solid, nothing moves except the handle smoothly turning around. Grind setting adjustment is easy and secure. Grinding experience in espresso range with medium-light roast beans is pleasant and satisfying.
The only thing I was disappointed to find was that the inner burr has the same dimensions as my Feldgrind's inner burr. It appears the difference in burr size is only a thicker outer burr rim. Can anyone confirm this? Can anyone confirm that this is the same burr set as in the old Lido 2? It seems the cutting surface is the same as the 38mm burr set. I was hoping for considerably faster grinding with a larger burr set but I guess not. It does seem to overall grind a little faster than the Feldgrind but haven't done side by side comparison yet with same amount of beans dialed in to same grind size. I wonder why Kinu would build two grinders with effectively the same burr set?
Overall, I am super impressed and satisfied with the M47. Shot pulling will commence tomorrow with a 5lb bag of Redbird espresso coming in the mail today... :D

This looks great. Do you the exact diameter of the o-ring?

I don't, it's the same o ring that is on the Feldgrind. The Feldgrind comes with a spare and that is what I am using.

Do the M38 and M47 still have a limited catch cup capacity? I seem to recall reading it was about 20g for one of them, even though hopper holds significantly more. I'd like to know how much of a medium to light roast each can hold in the current version.
