Is this a Mazzer Major?

Postby deity6667 on Tue Dec 15, 2009 7:31 pm

Hi,

I'm looking at pairing either a Mazzer Major or SJ with my VBM Super. I've come across this one on an Auction site in NZ.

Does this look like a Major Timer? I thought majors have the 3 opening on the side?

thanks for all your help - this is an awesome place!

I'd say it is a Mini.

looks like a mini but the pic 2of4 of the label says its a major timer. but it got the on off switch not a timer switch but it looks like like a mini.. the label says its a 240v grinder. i think the label got peeled off a major and stuck on a mini.

the old switcharoo.

Compare the Major and Mini photos from the Mazzer site. Jon's right, it's definitely not a Major; the hopper height alone is a dead giveaway.

I agree it's a very tidy mini. The seller says that the grinder is "recovered stolen goods". Given that and the fact that the sticker looks to have been, shall we say, re-applied, I'd say the thieves took the sticker from another grinder. It's also clearly not a timer switch. Now if we can just find out where the Major with the Mini sticker is, there might be a good deal to be had.
