Improving Mahlkonig K30 "clumpiness"

Postby Juanjo on Mon Oct 26, 2009 12:53 pm

Hi,

as most K30 owners know, the two "problems" of this grinder is static and clumps.
Yesterday got an idea from a fellow member, but since was over the phone I'm not sure I got it 100% right.. regardless, what I did it does work, it cuts at least over 50% of the clumps I used to get, as for the static also big improvement, but not completely static free (so Julio Cesar, if you are watching please let me know if I miss something to make it 100% static free;))

ok, enough talk..
here is the step by step.

Hi Juanjo, good job. Sorry it took me so long to see this, but I am finally responding officially. While using the one nail helped, you probably need more like 3 equally spaced; the one in the middle and one on either side as well, or if you do not want to drill holes, then you can fabricate a coarse screen using a couple of large paper clips for the material, and shaping it and soldering them together to form a small oval shape that will fit on the end of the chute.
