Here is the cast of characters. Since I needed containers, I went to the Container Store. The one on the right is a single old fashioned glass from the cupboard.

The single old fashioned works but is tippy.

The glass spice jar fits between the tabs but isn't wide enough to catch all of the grounds.

The metal spice jar will hang from the spout but won't contact the switch.

The magnetic spice jar works well if you hold it in place, otherwise it is extremely tippy. Also, it has a lip at the top that catches the grounds when pouring them out.

The "miniature glass jar" works great. It is stable and will sit there on its own. The spout is in the jar. A gentle press and you are grinding. You can see the grounds while grinding. The grounds release smoothly. This is the keeper.

4 oz. Mini Glass Jar Round Lid
2-1/4" sq. x 3-1/4" h
10030263
$2.99

The "miniature glass jar" has a lid so nothing gets in during storage and it looks good with the lid on (the "Not in my kitchen!" factor).

The portafilter for the Peppina with the collar just fits. You have to be very careful not to knock the collar and have a cascade of grounds.

The nominal weight of the jar is 107g. This is well within the 600g limit for my Escali scale.

The Escali also works well for the portafilter (123g).
