Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement stopper for the Hario Skerton? Mine mysteriously disappeared; no one I live with admits to taking it apart.
Thanks!

By stopper, do you mean the lock nut? That adjusts the grind size?

If so, you might be able to get them here. But it's a Canadian retailer and, with shipping, it might not be worth it to you. Also, it says it fits a Porlex and Hario Mini grinder, but doesn't say it fits a Skerton. From what I remember, the width of the Skerton axle is wider than a Mini. So I would check with them first to see if it fits. Actually, I believe the mini is an M6 thread, while the Skerton is M8.

So alternatively, and much cheaper, is replace your lock nut with an M8 posilock (nyloc) nut. This is super cheap, available at any hardware store/home depot for under $1...and it will give you stepless adjustment.

This thread talks about modding a Skerton

Hi Joyce,
I have a Hario Skerton that I never use.
If you let me have a mailing address, I will send it to you. That way you will have one spare of every component.

Regards,

Alan

Hi,

Thanks so much for replying. I don't think that the Home Depot part will work. This shows the stopper part -- I don't know how to describe it general hardware terms:

This image shows the actual part, though not labelled:

Thanks again --

Alan --
Thanks so much, that is so generous of you! Please let me send you $ for postage at least.
