Grinder skating across counter when dosing

Grinders are one of the keys to exceptional espresso. Discuss them here.

When I dose, my grinders have a tendency to move with the doser lever, making it hard to keep them where I want them when I grind. Has anyone else experienced this and figured out a workaround?

I would make sure there wasn't any coffee grounds under the rubber grinder feet reducing the coefficient of friction...

Then I would get some of these. http://www.orphanespresso.com/search.as ... rd=skitter
I got some and they greatly reduced the amount of vibration noise between the grinder and the counter, so my late sleeping wife is happy. Also kept things from sliding... at all :D

i'm using a Sorbothane pad for my new vario-w. reduced noise (vibrations) transferring to the counter-tops tremendously.

Go to a wood working shop like WoodCraft or Rockler and ask them for a router mat/tool mat or go to WallMart and get shelf liner (same thing). That will fix the problem.
