Got a rock in my Versalab M3

Postby denniskeating on Mon May 02, 2011 11:06 am

hello, i got a rock while grinding yesterday. it was coffee bean size and stopped the grinder. i just wanted to report that the grinders belt never slipped. although the motor was stopped for several seconds at a time, it didn't blow my fuse either. so i had to disassemble to find the rock and remove it, but i was very happy the way my grinder handled it ! - Dennis

You are lucky it did not tear up your burrs. Often the rocks will bounce in the burrs and beat them to pieces requiring a burr change.

i know, but this bean sized rock stayed up in the conical crushing area, and it did beat up that piece a little - but only a coupla nicks.

Glad the Versalab and You are OK! :D
I always enjoy watching my coffee beans going down when grinding with Versalab, and most of the time wondering what will happen to my eyes and my beloved grinder!? if there is a rock from...nowhere going in and flying out...
Thanks for solving the mystery!!!
Happy grinding
