There is really no way to defend Peter's customer service. It goes far beyond any kind of minor "complaint". There is a 93 page thread on coffeeforums.co.uk with hundreds of posts about a total lack of communication, orders not shipping for months, orders never shipping at all, and the like. The Feldgrind is a wonderful product I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for the best value for the grind quality as well as an amazing user experience. He isn't "overwhelmed with the customer service demands", he simply has no customer service whatsoever, to the point I will only be recommending the Feldgind in the future if it's in stock at distributors. He's had years to work out his production issues, but refuses to take on any outside help or even hire someone to reply to emails. It is the most incredibly testament to the quality of his products that he is still unable to keep up with the enormous demand. If you want a Feldgrind, buy it from a distributor.

I don't disagree. I have heard only raves about the grinders. And I certainly give slack to a creative genius who is an artist not a businessman. Yet by going into the commercial arena he has to recognize the need for a modicum of responsiveness. Maybe his adult grandkids can manage correspondence. Or hire a college student part time to manage communication. As I wrote I can wait patiently but just tell me the what and then when. It's not the expense. You are correct this grinder is inexpensive. It's the silence that is exasperating

Thanks for writing

FYI, I ordered this grinder direct from Knock early last month at one of the times when it was *in stock*. I didn't receive any email updates nor did I inquire either. I figured it would arrive eventually and I wasn't in a hurry anyway. It arrived in 3-4 weeks and looks great although I haven't got around to trying it out yet.

Thank you Chris, I don't even know they have some many distributors around the globe. I always though you only could buy directly from made by knock.

Very well put.

I feel for you, Barb. I was in your shoes not too long ago and it is frustrating to say the least.

Peter could save a lot of people, including himself, a lot of trouble by removing any mechanisms on his website that give the impression that he is an online merchant, and replacing them with links to retailers. He is apparently a brilliant inventor and craftsman with a droll sense of humor but he is not a merchant and shouldn't pretend to be.

Just received my Feldgrind via Prima Coffee. Thank you for posting this, there is a lot of helpful info in this thread.

I'm so far pretty happy with my purchase! Now I just wish I could find a Porlex rubber sleeve in the US. Seems like only sellers in Canada or UK sell them, so I'd end up paying 25-30$ USD for a 3$ piece of rubber lol.
