Does the Mazzer auger help?

Since I've finished my conversion of my Robur E to a dosered version, the only remnant of the E version (besides the electronics) is the auger. If I am only single dosing and not using the hopper, does the auger help/hurt or not do much of anything?

I ask because AFAIK, the auger is only on the E version.

Has anyone tried both setups?

Unless something has changed recently, Mazzer won't sell the auger separately. I doubt anyone else has converted an E version to doser, so your grinder is probably unique.

I'd keep it as the auger feed definitely helps eliminate popcorning on my G3 when single dosing.

Mitch, here's a link I found a while back and posted on another thread http://forum.coffeed.com/viewtopic.php?...97&p=23524 about half way down the thread a discussion about the auger comes up...I'd definitely keep it on there...

Nah. Even though I'm not using it's ability, I want to keep the grinder sellable in case something new comes along.
