Converting Cimbali Max Grinder to doserless? - Page 4

Postby yosetl on Mon Mar 14, 2011 12:21 am

Hello guys, first of all, my apology for resurrecting this old thread.
But I can't help myself after I saw an article in David Schomer site here http://espressovivace.com/schomerblog/index.php/2010/11/08/equipment-direct-dosing-grinders/.
It seems, he's using Mazzer doserless chute , but no details how he's doing it.

So here I am seeking advice & comment. Do any of you have ever tried this kind doserless modding? Any pitfalls, pro & cons for doing it?
Thanks & regards
Yose

Note. I'm not sure he's grinders is a Cimbali Max; that could be a Max Hybrid or an DRM Alinox.

He says the grinder is a belt drive, so it is an old DRM, not a Cimbali MAX which are direct drive but use the same kind of burrs Looks like he just hacked the doser out of the face and screwed the funnel to the machine. That is duct tape behind the funnel covering the inner workings of the grinder.
