I see the OE-PFP's out of stock. Efforts are being focused on the Pharos, I'd say.

Yes I'm thinking the same, I reckon I got one of the last assembled units.

Probably the way OE would like to go.
Handy having a second grinder, saves upsetting the espresso setting for a coarse grind.

I found greater value in buying a separate grinder for espresso rather than trying to redial in my super jolly for espresso, just to knock it back out that afternoon for drip grind. I figured the less headache, time and waste of beans justified it for me.

I really love how fast and quiet my K30V is, but I still secretly yearn for a big titan conical.

If I ever get the desire to try the 68mm conical burrs I would do it with the OE Pharos so the disappointment would be limited if the taste was not noticeably better. Resale should be good to strong on the Pharos too at least in the short term.

I guess I could (and did a couple times) use my K30 ES for espresso and drip since the adjustment is simple, but I usually use my Virtuoso or grab a hand mill for drip for no real reason other than habit.

I was afraid that this would happen.
And it did.

The results from the Pharos are better than any of my other grinders.
Now I have a grinder that is significantly more of a pain to dial in for different purposes, but blows away any of my other grinders. I've settled on the compromise of leaving it set for espresso and using a flat burr grinder for my drip. The flat burr does *okay* but the delta improvement of Pharos vs. Flat burr is greater for espresso.

OTOH, two Pharos grinders is still less than half the price of a comparable powered 68mm conical.
Less convenient, but for doing a couple of shots/and a pot of coffee a day, I'd live with it. It'd never do in a commercial environment.

Good point Eric. I have to admit, I bought the K30V only based on research, not hands on sampling. One of the first things I noticed when I got it was "dang, that's an extremely simple adjustment collar". But I don't regret it. I use the espresso machine at crazy hours in the middle of the night being a graveyard worker, and I am very grateful for its quiet operation (as are my neighbors). My drip grinding is done in the middle of the afternoon, before I leave for work.
