"Best" technique for per-shot grinder dosing? - Page 6

When I was in college one who had taken a class before could audit the class and just sit-in on lectures and benefit from updated info or the benefits of repetition, without the burden of writing papers or taking tests.

I'd like to audit the taste testing and benefit from the tasting without having to contribute to the scoring...is it possible to audit your test sessions Jon?

Absolutely.
I would be interested to know if you could taste a difference, but you wouldn't be included in the "score"

Has any one screened the grinds to find what method makes the most uniform grounds?

McMaster sells SS screening http://www.mcmaster.com/#stainless-stee...ns/=53nhls
Someone with experience could screen the grinds with a few different size screens and find what method produces the most consistent grind..

Laser diffraction analysis works better:

Counter Culture Coffee has a screen sift-shaker for doing "poor man's" particle distribution charts. There's no espresso labs until January; I will ask them about it when they restart.
