Bean fragments from the Macap M4

Postby Fullsack on Sun Aug 05, 2007 8:54 pm

The M4 has been producing bean fragments in the grind. What I'm finding in the pf basket are chips of coffee beans about 1/32 the size of a bean.

I'm grinding an individual, fine 8 gram batch each time and yes, before you ask, the hopper and its top are on during the grinding process, so it's not fragments flying out of the top of the grinder and into the doser. I brush the burrs from the top and then run the grinder for a few seconds after each session. This grinder cleaning ritual also includes cleaning out the pathway between the grinder and the doser and brushing out the doser.

Doug,

That sounds odd.... Have you had it apart for a look at the burrs and a cleaning? (see Cleaning the burrs of a Macap M4 Stepless Grinder)
