Hi: I have a many years old Baratza Virtuoso that no longer holds its grind adjustment. If you turn it on, the hopper lurches all the way to left and doesn't grind properly (motor seems to slow down although it's hard to tell).

I don't mind trying to service it myself, but is there any way to identify what is wrong, or what needs to be replaced, by the symptoms described? Does it need a new adjustment kit, or are there other parts that might need to be replaced?

I have a couple of Virtuosos and haven't ever encountered this issue. However, if you call Baratza technical support, they are super helpful and have every part available for replacement, and their website has videos and instructions for complete disassembly of the Virtuoso. Depending on the age, you might also want to upgrade to the gearbox 2.0 and Preciso burrs while you're at it. Their number is 425-641-1245.
