Baratza Vario -- Is there a reset button?

Postby MWM on Sat Jan 15, 2011 12:51 pm

New Vario, just unboxed. When I plug in this bugger none of the lights so much as blink, the timer readout doesn't come up to the default 10 sec, nothing.

DOA?

Are you sure that the hopper is turned fully into the detente? I have heard that this is sometimes difficult, so try re-seating it. If that fails, call or email Baratza, and i am sure they will get you up and running in no time.

I've seen in many threads that people commonly don't torque the hopper enough. I torqued the snot out of it (and confirmed that the line on the hopper in the back aligns with the one on the grinder, as mentioned in the manual). I do think that even if the hopper isn't on right the thing still should blink or do something when I plug'er in. I called WLL and they're sending new one out Monday.

The hopper will click into position when it's all set. It could be that the plug to the display panel has popped out, it's very easy to pop off the display and check that connection, might save some hassle.
