Anyone restoring a vintage grinder

Postby sneakymagic on Mon Aug 13, 2007 11:11 am

Hi folks,

I've seen a few vintage grinders (60's / 70's) lately that might make for an aesthetically pleasing bit of kit and was wondering if anyone had any experience doing this kind of work. I'm guessing that the biggest bugbear will be sourcing parts but I was wondering if there were any common parts that were pretty standard back in the day... eg if there were only a limited number of grinding plates sizes available might these be easier to source than one would at first think.

any one out there know more...

g'day sneaky

Mazzer list some info regarding interchangability of burrs for most machines 50's - present. Go here:
http://www.mazzer.com/second.asp?menu=4 and click on 'grinds'. If you don't already know, D = right rotation and S = left rotation.

good luck.
cheers
