Another happy Baratza Vario convert

I just bought the updated Vario to use as my main grinder and replace my new Mazzer mini. The mini will be demoted to a decaf grinder.

The Vario is a great grinder, I have the buttons on the front set as double and singe doses and the 3rd is a quick grind to clear the grinds out. The footprint is the right size. Still dialing it in but the results are getting better every day. I keep double checking the dosing with a scale but it's very consistent. Not a messy grinder either.

For some reason the mini seemed temperamental to get the grind right. Maybe it's the doser that I don't like. Now I'm on the fence of selling my mini and getting another vario.

Just giving my two thumbs up!

How long long do you have the flush timed for? The grind retention is pretty small - have you noticed much difference with the flush?

I have watched several auctions on ebay lately for minis and if yours is in decent condition, you should be able to recoup the majority of the funds towards another Vario.
