60's bulk grinder

Postby mindless_fool on Mon Nov 14, 2011 11:07 am

found a old bulk grinder from a old supermarket chain. It needed to be rewired since the cord was frayed, so i opened it up to rewire and found it has a brownish material on most of the sides. Im assuming its for noise reduction, but due to the age im worried its got Asbestos in it. here are a few pics of the front and back, its got a cool box where they would display a bag of coffee with a light..see pics

My plan is to use the grinder as display only, not to grind since its only got 4 selectable grind sizes and im sure the auger and burrs are rusted, and dull
