Use same grinder every day, same setting, same brand of coffee...yet today it required more than a minute longer to empty the upper globe. Why?

I don't use a vac pot, but it may be a symptom of increased humidity. Here in Atlanta we had a front move through overnight, bringing rain with it.

I had to adjust my espresso grind quite a bit to compensate for the increased humidity.

Just a wild guess -- as I said, I don't use vac pots.

I don't know which pot you're using- some use glass filters. some cloth and others paper filters. The cloth filters can "plug up" a little after repeated use if not scrubbed clean regularly, which can lead to slower draining.

Again, knowing absolutely nothing about whether you are using a Cona D, a Hario or a Walmart brand system it's hard to zero in on your problem-

Also, as this is the most exceptional dedicated exceptional espresso board and most here eat, drink and sleep only espresso, you may get more helpful vac pot insight on one of the other sites such as CG or alt.coffee

I'm using a metal Nicro with a steel filter. Actually I didn't want to double post by going to the other location before this one.
