I got my Macap M4 Stepless with doser yesterday and asked about cleaning out the chute this morning in another forum. I got two tips. Either remove the safety finger guard and use a brush or simply use a straw and carefully blow in at the top to get the chute clean. I will try both methods but i will start with the straw/blow i guess.

When one are trying to find the Zeropoint, is there not a risk that you damage the grinder? I tuned it until i heard a sound but if it is the Zeropoint i am not sure of. I have marked the spot where i heard the sound, i am now at 3 at the dial if i look in the middle of the copper coloured screw in the back centre getting good shots with my Nouova Simonelli Ellimatic.

The burrs have a flat "shelf" that touch first, not their sharpened edges (see Grinder burr types explained for pictures). Letting them touch briefly and lightly will do no damage.

Yes, sorry I didn't make that clearer. I habitually use a shot timer, and it's handy for timing grind. The time varies a few seconds with grind setting, but it helps to reduce complexity. I hate having to clean the chute again after grinding a gram too little.
