Want to talk espresso but not sure which forum? If so, this is the right one.

I drew a blank on this one. Then I remembered google is your friend!

Everyone has heard about the 10,000 cheese sandwich with bite out of it right? I figured there has to be an espresso equivalent. Sure enough, a simple google search "Virgin Mary Latte Art" yielded this picture as my number one choice.

Virgin Mary or really bad microfoam... You be the judge.

That Virgin Mary Latte

Kelp,
That's one of ours. We posted about it on our blog awhile back, http://www.aldocoffee.com/2005/09/the_virgin_mary.html. Cara had made it while practicing her hearts. It looks like crappy microfoam because it was about 10 minutes old by the time we thought to photograph it. Cara had excitedly taken it to just about every customer in the place looking for confirmation that it was indeed a Virgin Mary and not a circus seal or something.

It tasted fine... although a bit cold by the time I got to it.

People are always willing to pay big bucks on ebay for Virgin Mary images wherever they turn up - you could have made a mint but you chose to drink it. :(

I suppose that you could get $50 or $60 for a Virgin Mary, George Bush or Saddam Hussein likeness. This would be profitable unless it was in an Illy Collectors cup. My advice would be to pour all of your coffee into cardboard containers on the off chance that one of the above would choose to manifest itself.

(BTW I thought the image bore a remarkable similarity to my third grade teacher Ms Smoke. I didn't like her very much.)

Man, I really have to remember how small the Barista world is and watch what I say.

I also googled "Madonna Latte" and well, the pictures I came up with would have offended some. :)
