Is anyone in the area interested in meeting up down in San Jose at a local roasterie? Recently, the original Barefoot cafe on Steven's Creek changed names to Chromatic. They are also started roasting their own coffees. I talked to some of the roasters, (some of whom were roasting for Barefoot at least at some point), and we all thought it would be fun to schedule some kind of roaster get together. We can check out their roasting gear, and bring in our own home roasting stuff, do some cupping, really whatever we want. We're pretty much open to ideas at this point. We were thinking sometime mid January would be good. Any interest?

I'm down for that, Jon. I ran into one of the roasters at Good Karma in my quest for craft beer (the keg of Firestone Walker Anniversary Ale had been tapped and run dry before I got there) and he mentioned this possibility, It sounds great.

I'm afraid I'll probably have to stop by the cafe tonight on the way home to pick up a bag of their coffee to brew this holiday as I didn't roast enough to cover the family. I've enjoyed their roasts.

I'd enjoy attending too. When are you thinking of doing it? After the holidays?

@dustin, yeah most of the Chromatic folks are from Barefoot. I think the head roaster trained under Andy at the original Barefoot roastery. I don't think they have hired anyone new since the name change.

@gary, yeah sometime after the holidays. I'll put up details when we get more.
