Just ordered a Pharos and Lido, my friend ordered his Versalab M3 last week. I think we have a grind-off in our future.

Just had two Pharoses and a Versalab in my home yesterday. I was surprised to see that the Versalab popcorns bits of coffee beans above the grinding chamber. You can tease your buddy by asking why there isn't a bean chamber shield like you'll have in your Pharos.
Both those choices grind beautifully, of course.

Ha, OK, I will make sure and do that, at the same time i will occasionally say, "Did that belt just slip a little?"

Missed the weekly update on the LIDO but progress is being made. I'll go ahead and tell a tale out of school on our efforts....
I previously mentioned a static issue. And after searching and searching this forum and others I could find nothing positive that anyone has to say about static...in any realm but cool vintage physics generators. The tribo electric effect. This has been driving us crazy for weeks now. We tried making little wire sweepers to put on the burr. We ground barefoot. Naked. We wired grounding wires from the LIDO and from us to the ground socket on the wall outlet. We even tried grinding while wearing tinfoil hats. I reached the point that I had convinced myself that static was a good thing as the chaff and smallest fines were the particles generally held to the jar lid and was considering promoting this as the Chaff-O-Static. Or the Stat-O-Mat Chaff Separation System. We have tasted press pots with and without the chaff. I have a canister of chaff collected over the past month and have brewed it to see what it is...inert? Hulls? Asking over and over is the mess of static worth it....can it possibly impart some positive effect.
You may have guessed the conclusion of this little manic episode by now. Glass jar = NO STATIC. Duh.
86 the plastic as the grinder will come with an 8 oz glass jar and if you want the Chaff-O-Stat then we can oblige .
We are thankful for our little slowdown on shipping since grinding with no static is a real plus, for us and we think most folks as well.

Ha! I like this change. Would a Ball jar (or similar) fit well, by chance? No need to disrobe before checking...

Doug, grinding while naked? That is truly a frightening thought.

Well, they've already been beard tested, so there's a low chance of "snagging"
