Looks good but watch your varnish. My experience, the portafilter handle will blister where it screws into the portafilter. Not many finishes will take the heat. I use catalyzed urethane which is heat/water/chemical resistant but a little difficult to work.

That's a good point. I've had very good luck with the Behlen rockhard tabletop varnish in other uses. It's heat, chemical, water, etc. resistant. I have tested it with a heat gun and it didn't bubble at all up until the wood blackened. I'll report back after a few months.

What about white Oak or Teak without finish? Their water resistance might carry through at p.f. temperatures.

Hi,

below a picture of my setup. Duetto 2 (with some nice macassar ebony portafilter handels and new style water/steam wand knobs made by Dave :D ) together with a Mazzer jolly.

I've made a commitment to post a picture of my setup once I finish my sideboard, but because other things have become a priority, I'm still working on that. Instead, I'll post a picture of my setup sharing space in the kitchen as I prepared to pull some shots tonight with dinner. I'm sure that everyone that doesn't have a nook can relate to the challenges of sharing the counter space in the kitchen with food prep and everything else that goes on. Motivation to finish the sideboard, for sure.

Put a pineapple wedge in your cup and pull an espresso over it.
