It seems the only spare parts manual in existence for the GS3 is in the hands of Robert Lombardi. Like others, I only received the Installation Guide, Owners Manual and Software Programming Guide.

Searching for parts manuals for the other La Marzoccos, I was not able to find one for the GS3 (by guessing at the URL for the GS3 or by viewing directory listings which some of the sites allowed).

Furthermore, it seems no sites list parts for the GS3 (e.g., espressoparts.com and marzoccoman.com label parts "Fits La Marzocco Linea, La Marzocco FB70"). I can't find any parts stating "Fits La Marzocco GS3".

This is annoying since I'd like to have a few gaskets and a screen on hand for my GS3. (It's no fun to wait for a gasket to start leaking before getting around to ordering one.)

Robert, have you scanned your parts manual yet? Anyone else have the parts manual or know where it is posted? Anyone know which gasket the GS3 ships with?

As for the gasket leaking... if you don't torque on the portafilter with excessive force, it will last a long time. Running the machine 24/7 will accelerate the gasket hardening and eventual failure to seal.

It's not clear to me what the "standard" gasket is. There appears to be a choice of 4 different gaskets for La Marzocco. There are 3 La Marzocco gaskets listed here (http://www.espressoparts.com/category/0 ... upgaskets/) and 4 La Marzocco gaskets listed here (http://www.marzoccoman.com/servlet/the-GROUP/Categories).

I don't leave my machine on 24/7 and I'm not anticipating having to replace the gasket on my one week old GS3 any time soon; but I would like to have one on hand for when that time comes.

I believe the gaskets are all the same dimensions other than depth. I see there are only 3 gaskets available: 6mm, 7mm, 8mm. This refers to the thickness of the gasket.

In a commercial environment, as your portafilters get old, the ears that lock into the group start to wear down and the portafilter ceases to lock in the right place. As your portafilter ages, you can get a thicker gasket to counteract this.

As I assume yours is a home machine, this is not a big deal. I would suggest pulling your gasket to see how thick it is. Any of those gaskets will fit your machine, but they will cause the portafilter to lock in at different angles. I would assume you will want whichever one is the same thickness as your own.

Thanks Nicholas. There are four spec'd (but only 3 at espresso parts) - 6 flat or conical and 7 flat or conical (with the conical having a depth of 6/8 and 7/9). Given that you mentioned the wear, it seems they would ship the 6 mm on a new machine; so I'll order a 6mm flat and 6mm conical to have on hand.

I guess I'll raise it on my priority list. Super busy right now, even though I still manage to find the time to read and post on here! Perhaps I'll take a little hiatus from posting and put that time into scanning that parts manual.

Just to close out this thread...

Don Stone read my post and was kind enough to send me a PDF of the GS/3 Parts Catalog.

In the document, the L105/B8 [6/8mm conical] gasket is spec'd for the GS/3. [That's not to say the others won't fit.]
