I had issues with some new N20 Cartridges I bought a few weeks ago, and they sent 4 free cartridges to test if the problem was the equipment or the new chargers. Such a great company. Hope they get their issues solved.

Figures, I buy into it and the @#$@# company goes out of business one and a half a months later. Can't honor the warranty eh? Thanks.

The MyPressi does pull a good shot, but it's darned inconvenient to use. Now it's a throwaway. Good thing I got it for rock bottom price.

Geeze, can we PLEASE get a usable Espresso unit for <$400? The MyPressi was an innovative way to do it but really it's so quirky that most people wouldn't be happy with it. Us Geeks, yes.. but.
I suspect they are are OUT OF BUSINESS and unless someone buys the rights, it's game over.

Oh well, as long as mine doesn't break, I'll be okay for a little while.

The O-rings are a PITA as are 8g cartridges that you can only buy mail order. Maybe someone will buy the idea and go with paintball refillable CO2 cartridges which would be like 50-100 n2o's for.. about $5 to refill.

The whipped cream chargers were the Achilles heel for that unit since day one. It's simply to hard to get them since in most places, except for very urban, you have to mail order them.

I was all ready to bite the bullet and get a "Silvia" class machine and the wife dropped the bomb: SHE likes Moka Pot better. So I'll never get one more than a couple of hundred bux now. Crap, I was going to just fix the Twist or buy a new one every couple of years.. I suppose that's not an option now.

With some creativity, personal hygiene touches, and good listening skills, you should be able to get a better wife for less than that!

As Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper would say, "It is better to beg forgiveness, than ask permission."

You can't stay at my house, however, when she kicks you out. Just make sure that she gets something that she really wants too. I think she'll come around once you get a machine and start offering her milk drinks.

Getting back on track, I hope that this MyPressi situation resolves itself. I'm really happy with the product, but understand that there's been issues. I still see these offered retail and if I see a close-out, I may have to get myself a backup unit as I use it every week at work and while camping.

I'm having a hard time finding any real info on the situation, other than what's been posted here.

I am sorry to see Mypressi exit the market. I have recommended the Twist to a number of people as an economical means to make espresso. Convincing them it isn't a toy is not too hard when people like James Hoffmann have praised it. The deal breaker for most is the disposable gas cartridges. It's unfortunate they were never able to release the hand pump attachment.

Opother answers:

I belive I may have solved the problem of the leaky seal on my own quickly and cheaply.

Despite the hoopla posted by Mypressi I have found that this thing does actually come apart quite easily at least easily enough for me to replace the seal. You probably DO NOT EVEN NEED a spring clip remover.

I swapped out the original seal and replaced it with a hard rubber seal for steam valve shaft that is normally used on La Pavoni Lever machines ($2.50 found at our usual suspects.)

This seal is stiffer taller and has a slightly smaller outer diameter that blooms right out and seals when an N2O cartrige is shoved in it. I can now torque it to what I feel is right.

The end cap does not line up perfectly with with handle like it used to but that can be fixed for those who are picky by filing down the height of the seal until it lines up at whatever your desired torque is (customization.) The top of the seal and probably the bottom is not part of the seal in this device rather the seal blooms out against the edges of the pressure regulator assembly when the neck of the N20 charger is shoved into the seal.

The original seal is somewhat flimsy and not very tall which probably allows it to slide up and down a bit in its housing making it hit and miss with N20 chargers of slightly different legnths.

My replacement seals makes things a bit more stiff but belive it or not nothing is excessive. With this taller seal my twist is most likely totally cured of any cartridge pickiness that it may have had with the previous flimsy O ring seal.

Of course the real test will be when I now pull three more shots and leave a cartridge in it for a few days. I intent to keep you posted.

I should of never listened to Mypressi when they insisted this thing is not user servicable. Really screw their airhead lawyers. Lawers may know the law but they also know how to drive a company to the ground with their practicality inhibiting BS.

If this $2.50 fix works good hopefully people will be able to fix these themselves and just maybe Mypressi will be able to pull themselves out from under.

You can use CO2 on the twist as well I belive because the CO2 cartridge will fit but wouldn't that make fizzy espresso ????????

N20 cartridges are not a deal breaker for me. A leaky seal however is but if this works the fix is so cheap and easy it should be a no brainer for anyone with mediocore tinkering skills.

I just pulled two shots with it using stumptown hairbender and they were quite good.
