Wow Marvin. That is quite the kudos for Leftist. I have to order some now.

Thanks for the comment.

Leftist aint bad at all... Makes a hell of a ristretto, and handles milk like no ones business. I dont want to say "chocolate bomb", but that sums it up well.

The Platinum Blonde.. Funnily enough, DOES taste like they describe it... Leather Jackests, Chrome Tailpipes, Polished Supercream.. Ok.. Maybe not exactly.. but when you drink it, you will see what they mean. Definitely worth a try.

My favorite is the Piccolo Mondo, which is a bit lighter and has some more fruit going on... While the other two excelled as updosed tight 'strets, the Piccolo Mondo, I thought, pulled best a little looser... my notes tell me I had it at 1.6-1.7 in 27-28 seconds, and apparently I liked it best as a Straight shot, and Americano. Definitely my favorite straight espresso blend out of the three.. But for milk, Leftist.

I did a cupping course with Colleen Anunu, the roaster and cupper for Gimme. She's still in her twenties, so she doesn't have an industry wide reputation yet. But she's really good already, and will be a coffee superstar soon. Bottom line, Gimme will keep getting very good coffees and putting out great espresso blends.

Thanks for the info on the free shipping.

Just ordered a pound of Leftist, for my wife's lattes, and a pound of Piccolo Mondo, for my espresso's.

My one complaint about Gimme! is they dont often have much selection for single origin espresso. Ive had a couple SOs from them that were good, but nothing recently.

Other then that Ive been pleased when I order from them. I havent in a while but I check their site often. I fell in love with their blends the first time I ordered from them, and ordered their blends, week after week, for 7 orders in a row. I got sick of them. Which is why I havent been back. Maybe Ill need to order from them again sometime soon.

Any tips on pulling Platinum blond?

Almost through my 1st 1/2 lb of Leftist. It isn't my favoritist. It's very thick, lots of leather and tobacco. I get no sweetness. I've pulled it with 19g-20g, 200-203, 1.25-1.75 oz. in various permutations.

it's what i usually use; i get it from art java in montreal. it's what they normally use for their own coffees though i think they recently switched to jjbeans.

now, i'm no expert in tasting espresso and all, but food is my job and i think i know a thing or two and consistently, i kid not, drinking leftist i've found myself thinking of ... celery !! .. maybe im crazy, maybe it's my water ..... not that it isnt good, i just find it an odd taste to find in coffee ;)

i'll have to try piccolo mondo too ...
