I think a future event could probably be dedicated to roasting, and obviously another could probably be focused on equipment. But in this case we're really trying to just do tasting and barista technique.

As an incentive for those who are on the fence....

It looks like we're going to have coffee from at least 3 different countries (not 3 different origins, but rather from roasters operating out of 3 different countries).
And we're definitely going to have some interesting / awesome door prizes (not including left over coffee) donated by various coffee companies.
And.... I think we're going to have coffee from roasters representing at least 4 WBC champions!!!

So if you can make it - this could be an amazing opportunity.

UPDATE: Make that 4 different countries and 5 WBC champs!!!!
UPDATE 2: Make that 5 different countries (and 5 WBC champs).

We're just a couple of blocks from the Civic Center BART station and a S.F. Muni stop. The muni N line and T line have stops at the S.F. Cal Train station and would be direct to Civic Center.

This sounds fantastic. I and my partner in coffee have cut back on doing much espresso at home because we love the social aspects of sharing espresso and espresso talk (and would rather go to Barefoot, Redberry and Verve to get our espresso+social fix with other coffee lovers). I still do roast and love doing bright coffees in our Clever Dripper at home. (Haven't posted in coffee groups online for a few years, but still check in from time to time, so a big hello to everyone!).

Hello All,

Would love to make it if I can but don't see an address posted for the meet-up and didn't find one online for Full Sack Jack Coffee Roasters. Where's this happening?

Thanks,
Gary

Chris,
I'll be there for sure. Do I need to bring anything?

Address and details to be posted - don't worry.

As noted above, the only thing that would be great if people brought is cupping spoons. If you don't have them... no worries. But if you do, bring 'em.

BTW - added one more roaster. I think we're pretty much maxed out on coffees at this point.

I found a spoon at the thrift store that looks like it might work out ok, for twenty-five cents, it's low risk. Stainless steel, not silver or silver plate, though. Only able to find one so far.

Saw a pack of six soup spoons at a dollar store but they looked like they'd been stamped out in China with ridges on the edges, not something I want to put in my mouth.
