I got an email back today from Jenny @ Blue Bottle about the specific details on the tour information at their roasting facility in Oakland. I was hoping that there would be enough interest from those that have came to the get together s that we would be able to do this.
The tour consists of just that a tour of the facility and then a tasting of either up to 6 single origins, or a tasting of one coffee prepared three different ways. Then at the end of the tour/tasting a half pound of coffee chosen by the barista that leads the group.
The cost is $15.00 per person, with a min of $150.00. So I am looking for ten people!
All of the tours are done Sundays at 3:30, we are looking at trying to get something going for August 12th or later at this point, we need 10 plus people that are interested so we can find a date that is accommodating to as many as possible.
Even if the 12th is not an option for you please put down that your interest as these dates are not set in stone and are subject to availability.
List of the interested:
1. Myself
2. Yakster
3. TomC
4. Chang00
5. Dustin360
6. Parity
7. Parity(2)
8. Willys535
9. JimWright

You can count me in as well. Except for specifically the Sunday the 24th I have to work. Unless that day works best for everyone else, I have availability teh entire next weekend, plus many holes during the last week of June, first week of July.
I think I'll try and plant a seed for Tom at Sweet Maria's to consider doing something similar. They can only say no, and I'm starting with a no, so there's nothing to loose by asking.
Thanks for setting this up! I think it would be a great time. They always have something interesting. Plus, it will be easy for folks to park!

Later weekends work up to and including July Fifteenth, but a lot of people may be taking a long weekend on July First.

I went to the free public Sunday afternoon cupping session today. It is located at 300 Webster Street, near Jack London Square.
Six coffees were cupped. The coffees were production roast, and not the typical cupping roast.
One unexpected benefit....the drop temperatures and roast times of various different coffees were handwritten on the containers. I would consider these details proprietary information, so it was useful for me.
I am in for the June 24, if Tom can change his work schedule that will be great. Or we should set up a later date.

Okay well it looks like we got seven interested thus far including Tom that cannot attend the June 24th date. What I am going to do is just assume that the 24th is not going to work based on the interest that I am seeing right now, but would like to leave it open for anyone else that would like to join up.
Once I get to at least ten preferably around 12 I would like to try and organize the date. So keep that steady trickle of people going!
