Hi!
My experience duplicates yours. In fact, it was almost comical. I set it to espresso, a few clicks down on the fine setting, default time of 10 seconds. With my beans I got 14.5 and 13.9 grams on the first two tries, and hit 25 to 28 seconds pours. By then I had had enough espresso for a while. Next month: new espresso machine . . .
Bonus: I now have the nicest hex driver I have ever seen! [for those that don't have one, this is for adjustments]

After 2 mornings of work, the mazzer is off to a friend. I don't think I'd have been happy if I hadn't tried the Mini so no regrets on my part for getting to this point in a less than direct way. But this upgrade reminds me the grinder makes espresso and makes me ponder the large conicals I read about on HB in a way I hadn't previously...
