Do you own one of the following:

- Izzo Alex Duetto III Dual Boiler w/ PID
- Vibiemme Double Domobar Version 3 w/ PID
- Rocket R58

If yes, which one you own?
Would you buy the same machine again?

I can decide between those 3, maybe this survey can help me decide...

Thank you,

BigBlaze

Before anyone says to do a forum search, I do think this topic warrants some new discussion, given how much the selection of dual boiler machines has changed recently. You can add the Vivaldi models to the list, as well as the new "dream machines" from CC and the Quick Mill QM67.

I would add, not just the selection, but what's out there has seen many improvements since even the quite dated reviews on this website were published. I get that revisions don't necessarily change performance, but it's nice to KNOW what the revisions have done in a practical sense instead of a marketing sense. An overshoot of 6F may now be nullified in recent versions. It would be nice if new machines were actually reviewed akin to the gaming industry that reviews EVERYTHING that gets released.

ah heck.... i'll weigh in for what it's worth survey style. Very recently I considered those machines + the V2 mini. I decided on the V2 Mini. So far it is great, I don't regret having decided against the others and I didn't want to be an early adopter of the Dream. I bet I would have said that if I had opted for one of the other machines though. I feel like I will have a very capable machine for a long time.

The Dream Machine is the new La Spaziale machine. CC (Chris Coffee) is the only one to distribute it at this time.

Thank you.

To be honest, I don't like the design of this machine. I know it is probably the best Dual boiler, but in this price range, there is other design I will pick.

I'm going to list the Dual Boiler with PID on the market in this range 2000$ - 3000$
If this list is incomplete, just had the machine missing!

- Izzo Alex Duetto III Dual Boiler w/ PID
- Vibiemme Double Domobar Version 3 w/ PID
- Rocket R58
- Expobar Brewtus IV
- Quick Mill Dual Boiler QM67

This is not easy, why not post survey on this topic?

''WHICH DUAL BOILER WITH PID DO YOU THANK IS THE BEST MACHINE ON THE MARKET???''

I have spend lots of hours ready and searching the web and H.B. to select the best DB PID and when I think I have found the good one, I found something that make me hesitate. I ready to buy, but at this price, I want the BEST machine for my daily Cappuccino.

The holidays are at our door, I hope santa will deliver the BEST!!!

At this type and level of machine I don't believe there is a best between the three. Although I've read about some issues with the R58 - lots of damage in shipping it seems though don't hold me to it.

I have experience with a friends Duetto v2 and recently upgraded to VBM DD v3 myself. Pretty functionally equivalent IMO. Either excellent choice. (I have no hands on with the R58.)

I went with the VBM DD over the Duetto for a few reasons:
1) Prefer it's ubber sleek look (though Duetto no slouch)
2) Baddest a$$ looking E61 group out there - no others look the same
3) Much prefer the brew PID temp control on top front. I change coffees/temps alot - sometimes back to back cups.
4) Like the gauges symetrically left and right up top too but not really a factor.
5) (minor) VBM v3 $245 less than Duetto v3 though Duetto v2 still availavble same $ as VBM.

Advantage to Duetto if running off tank - larger. (like when taking on vacation). But since I run plumbed at home too low on the list to offset my reasons for the VBM.

I went with the VBM DD as well. I got an insanely great price and figured it would be stupid not to take. So far, it's about as good as I thought it would be. I think it comes down to WANTS as opposed to needs, more or less, in this higher level category. As the needs are mostly, if not all, fulfilled by most if not all of the offerings. The type of machine you choose is based on needs, you decide on a certain machine for what it offers in comparison to others, including the cost.

Surveys are only useful if there's a real way to choose a 'winner'. The survey will be full of answers from people who made personal decisions and most may have been more impacted by price then others. It won't solve anything, in other words. You have to decide for yourself... none are BAD options.
