I've been homeroasting for nearly a year now and keep my beans in valve bags from Sweet Marias. They are starting to smell a little stale between uses and I'm wondering if there is a rule of thumb for how much use you get out of them. Thanks!

I've been wondering the same thing. I use the 1/4 lb. clear ones since I'm roasting with the Fresh Roast (I also use Ball jars). I'm guessing you're using the Matte White ones (?)
Tomorrow came sooner than expected.

Yep, matte white.

I made the mistake of putting ground coffee in a couple of them one time. (Upon 2nd or 3rd glance I realized it expressly says not to do that at the bottom of the product page on their site :( ) But regardless, they all smell stale...

That smell is residual oil, rancid. When that smell occurs, toss them.
