Macap M4 - how to remove lower burr assembly?

Grinders are one of the keys to exceptional espresso. Discuss them here.

i have seen 1 thread showing the use of longer bolts to push up the assembly, and in there another user saying he posted on how to pry with a flathead. i can't find the flathead technique thread... can someone point me there or tell me how to otherwise get this removed. there is tons of grime under this assembly, and i'm committed to getting this cleaned (i have sour/foul tasting coffee, and this is next on my list of problems to address the issue). as you can see, i've removed the bolts but can't seem to remove the burrs or assembly.

the screwdriver trick worked ... just took more force than i expected.

i have to say, removing this lower assembly was required; there was about 1/8in of caked on grinds below.

Have the same grinder. You must be using darker coffee than me. I pop it open every 4-5 months for cleanup and have never had buildup you discuss. As well, never had to resort to force when changing out burrs.
