For those of us not quite up to Dr. Gary's awesome ball bearing pivot pin support, anybody see anything wrong with using a little dab of high film strength moly engine assembly lube? Surely not food safe, but a little goes a long way and it's designed to maintain lubricity in very high pressure... Think a bunch of microscopic bb's suspended in grease.

Seems like a good idea to me. The main thing I would do to improve lever pins is make them out of brass and thread and cap them with acorn nuts. This makes the pins the consumable part and relieves you of messing with circlips.
