My V1 Silvia's boiler light stopped coming on yesterday when the brew switch is engaged. The boiler is definitely not turning on - I verified the water was still cold after leaving the machine on for a half hour. I also know that the heating element is good, because the steam switch causes the boiler to heat and the light to come on. This narrows it down (if I'm not mistaken) to an issue with the brew thermostat. Before I order the part, though, I'm wondering if there are any other possibilities - maybe scale is preventing the thermostat from accurately sensing temperature? Except that I wouldn't expect that to affect me with a cold boiler, just maybe on the hot end of things. Is there anything I can do to the thermostat to try to fix it (disassemble, rebuild, grease, etc) or should I just order up the part?
