Pardon the dumb question, but the block of wood is part of your setup too, yes? And the fan is at the window-end of the ducting too? Here is what I did to vent exhaust on the Quest.
The flex pipe attached to the fitting. I made it from a piece of aluminum pipe. It can be cut with scissors.
A small piece of angle held the left side of the pipe flush with the back of the roaster.
The brass machine screw just pinned the flex pipe to the fitting.
