In a 49mm basket, ~11.4 grams is the equivalent of 16 grams in a standard 58mm basket. More often isn't better (because it reduces % extraction yield).

I typically get a 27-30g shot with a 14-15g dose.

I pulled two nice thick creamy, chocolatey shots both yesterday and this morning on my l.p. This morning, both were 14 grams of beans and a result if 17 and 18 grams of espresso. I really enjoyed the shots, both yesterday and this morning. Probably two of the better tasting shots I've pulled recently.

When I was using my lido 2, I was dosing 14.5 grams and it seemed like the optimum dose. When I got a pharos, i had trouble getting 14.5 grams in the baskets, so I dropped to 14. I'm not sure if that is because of the different particle size/shape or what, but I've been getting really good results with 14 grams and a very light tamp.

I'm currently dosing at around 16 g and getting about 25-28 g of coffee
