Hi,
As stated in the topic above, espresso taste is balanced but the mouthfeel is pretty astringent (or dry is the correct word). Is anyone willing share their thoughts on this? Is the shot volume or dose going to affect the mouthfeel of the espresso or its time to have my burr replaced?
Machine: Aurelia II
Grinder: Anfim Super Caimano
Basket: VST 15g
Dose: 15g
Yield: 37g
Coffee:
Its a blend by local professional roaster
-Indonesia Wahana
-Brazil Ponte Allegre
Thanks in advance!

I would love it if we could get an update here. Did shorter work? What was it like?

1) You can check the PH and composition of the water you use to see if this affected the taste.lohchoonhuah1991 wrote:Hi,

2) You can try to pull the shot shorter (32 grams). See the "dose/brew" ration graph down below.
3) Try another coffee blend to validate your analysis.

Yes. Pulling it shorter eventually make the coffee more intense and better mouthfeel and the astringency is reduced drastically. Thanks a lot guys.KevinAlvord wrote:I would love it if we could get an update here. Did shorter work? What was it like?
