Hey all! so I've been using the v60 for quite some time now, I have always had great results with light roasted coffee, but every time i would make any thing from medium to dark roast i would have a terrible tasting coffee. I tried making the grind coarser, like a bit beyond filter coffee and that yielded a much better tasting coffee. Does anyone else experience this? the perfect grind for light roast is way finer than for dark roast.

For v60, grind should always be much coarser, rather than finer. It's about creating fluffier grounds which create a more natural agitation, and frankly the only agitation you need. Fluffier grounds also give more surface area on which to pour, and with V60, as well as the Kalita Wave, it's all about the precision of the pour.

So if your grind size is right, then take a look at your pour because that's where the problem lies.

Do you like darker roasts as espresso ?

Yes I've read it - I'll stick to varying my grind as the variable
