Sorry to ask a question that may have already been answered by the link that was given. If "w" is set up as fan, do you hit the "w" key, release it, then type 50 to register a 50% fan setting?

If the second custom event (menu Config >> Events) is setup as fan, you hit the "w" key (during recording), release it (you will see the name of the event 2, maybe "fan" written in the message line as confirmation), press "5", release it (you will see "fan 5" in the message line as confirmation), press "0" release it (you will see "fan 50 in the message line as confirmation). If a slider for the second custom event is enabled, the slider will move to 50% and a corresponding event action will be triggered (if one is configured).
