Recommended espresso serving temperature?

I watched this video....
and it mentions the optimal serving temp for espresso is in the range of 150-170F.
With my ECM Technika IV Profi my espresso temp in a heated cup is around 100-120 degrees (with the usual cold flush).
My water straight out the my brew head is 165ish degrees (not cold flush).
Is something not right? Should I have higher serving temps?
Should avoid the cold flush or wait 10 minutes after a cold flush to get the temp higher?
thanks

Then something is amiss with your machine. See this: Brew ratio vs brew temperatureWith my ECM Technika IV Profi my espresso temp in a heated cup is around 100-120 degrees . . .

If the machine is still under a warranty, I would contact the dealer from whom you purchased.

Aw man say it isn't so! I'm going to have a thermostat put on my brew head and as needed have Matt @ espresso restore make the mods. Thanks for the info and possible solution. So the hottest shots will be the first one, no flush. Hmm interesting....

I would direct Matt to this thread and have him troubleshoot your machine. Having a thermostat on the brew group is a complex operation.
