Improve grip/insulate handle of Paico kettle

As the "subject" line states, I want to improve the grip and insulate the handle of my newly purchased Paico kettle. I want to do something that is form fitting not loose, and would make the handle comfortable to hold. I heat my water on a gas stove and the handle gets pretty hot hence the need for insulating properties, too. Suggestions?

I just use a fingered oven glove. You can grab one at a local restaurant supply company more cheaply than it is here:

Certainly, a viable option. But as Scott suggested, sleeving/tubing might be the ticket!

Does anyone know if silicone tape would work for this application i.e. does it have thermal insulating capability?

^ Answer: Yes

I purchased a roll today, at HD. Just tried it out letting my kettle come to a full boil (something I never do), grabbed the handle and voila, warm but not HOT! Mission accomplished!
