I have an HX machine that I like but I would prefer more control over it. My wife makes herself lattes as well and doesn't enjoy having to flush the machine and all that goes into making an HX machine work the way it was designed.

I am looking at this PID.

Unfortunately, putting a pid on a hx machine doesn't change anything in how it functions. If you don't want to flush, then you are going to have to get a double boiler machine with pid.
