The last Mini Mazzer hopper I had I cut out the domed thingy, and you are correct, the plastic is not as nice as the Ceado plastic.

1st line now sells Ceado and carries replacement parts. I too have the Mazzer Mini hopper, but just noticed that 1st line has a short hopper:

The Mini hopper works ok, but I bet the Ceado short hopper would work better.

I will say, it is comforting to know that 1st line sells replacement parts for the E37S. This was definitely an area of concern when I bought mine from WLL.

If it's a replacement part, you generally get just the individual part, and not any associated parts that form the whole assembly.

For instance, the Mazzer Mini short hopper is composed of 3 pieces: The plastic hopper, the bean door, and the lid. Most retailers who sell parts sell them separately, unless they've put together a SKU where they've been combined. That's because most businesses (or people) who need a replacement have broken or lost only one piece of the assembly.

FWIW, when I ordered my E37S from WLL, they shipped it with both a tall and a short hopper, both of which were made by Ceado (the small one was of the same design as the larger...only shorter). And got a lid for each. The short hoppers I see people getting nowadays look somewhat like the Mazzer short hoppers, which have the same throat diameter.
